“Password Protected”
"Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name." Psalm 91:14
One of the most frustrating things about having accounts, multiple accounts, is trying to remember the passwords to gain access to the information needed. Unless we have that one valuable piece of information, we are not able to get what we’re trying to get. Having that unique identifier opens up that which is locked, protected and secure.
When we take a moment to think about it, much of life is password protected. There’s a code to open up our phone. We need four digits to use the ATM. To get to our email, a password is needed. The list goes on and on. Really… take a moment to inventory where and when you need a password to retrieve what belongs to you.
The Psalmist David was reminded by the LORD that it is of the Lord’s mercy and goodness that he was blessed. The LORD brought back to David’s remembrance the love HE has for HIS own as well as the liberation afforded to believers. These gifts come by way of the name of the LORD.
Even today, those of us who know HIS name have the blessed opportunity to receive, enjoy, share, steward, witness, be guarded by and glory in the LORD’s bounty. The hymnwriter even wrote abut it when he penned, “There is a name I love to hear. I love to sing its worth.” The LORD’s name works wonders for those who love HIM and know how to call HIS name.
During this Lenten Season may we remember the password that unlocks healing. May we use the password that destroys yokes and lifts burdens. May we recall the password that removes all doubts and calms all fears. It’s an easy password, one that we don’t even have to write down or go through the alphabet or some numeric formula to recall. It is the name of JESUS!
Heavenly FATHER, bless YOUR NAME. How sweet YOU are and how all the better we are because of YOUR deliverance and protection. It’s all because of YOUR NAME. So, GOD, we pray for all things good and perfect through that password that gives us access to YOU, the NAME that is above every name. It is the name of JESUS we pray, AMEN.
